Chalet Chamoissiere
A beautiful, 1 bedroom , self-catering holiday apartment i situated in the French alps resort of Monetier-les-Bains, Serre Chevalier, only a short walk to the ski slopes. Eco-friendly geothermal underfloor heating system from the local thermal springs. Ground-floor location with terrace and small garden with views of the mountains. The apartment has one double bedroom and a lounge/kitchen area which is fully equipped with hob, small oven, large fridge and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine, the shower-room has a vanity unit, hairdryer and shaver socket. The lounge area has sofa beds and dining table, there are sliding doors to the terrace. There is a ski locker & boot storage in the lobby. A communal pool, sauna and hammam complete the facilities (opening times may be restricted to weekends outside of the main season) and each apartment has a designated changing cubicle and parking space. Short stays are welcome outside of the peak ski season, and throughout the summer.
The apartment has underfloor heating, supplied by the thermal springs. The gardens are shared with the rest of the apartment, although we have our own small garden and terrace.
The apartment is on the ground floor and may be suitable for those of limited mobility. A fifth person can be accommodated on a chair bed, if they are a child under 10. Please mention this when enquiring. The telephone is available for local calls . Broadband internet access is provided (unless technical difficulties outside of our control prevent this).
Our apartment is situated in the village of Le Monetiers-le-Bains, the highest in the Serre Chevalier ski area (250kms of pistes). It is close to the slopes (about 150-200m) which are accessed via a footbridge across the Guisane River. There is ample skiing for all levels, and there are many off-piste routes to be explored.
It is 12kms from the main town of Briancon, a Napoleonic walled town built by the famous military architect Vauban, and 20 minutes from the Italian border. In summer there are a multitude of activities to enjoy, climbing, walking, via ferrata, rafting, kayaking, and mountain biking. The area is also famous for it’s close proximity to the major mountain stages of the Tour de France, the Col du Lauteret, Granon, Galibier and Alpe d'Huez are all close by.
Across the Col du Lauteret is the glacier of La Meije, and you can enjoy summer skiing at Deux Alpes. Out of season, it is a quiet, relaxed place to be, just take in the views
