Newly renovated, the gîte makes up the majority of the 'old Château' built in the 1700s. With a large entrance hall with oak staircase large bathroom with roll top bath and hydrotherapy shower, double bedroom, a double bedroom in the tower & a single bedroom.
Open plan kitchen/sitting room. Light rooms with beautiful windows overlooking the Chateau grounds and river.
For relaxing after a hard day's holidaying, a selection of CDs and DVDs along with the CD, DVD player and Playstation 2 are included for your use. Wifi (wireless internet access) is provided, should you be unable to tear yourself away from your emails or want to check out local places to go.
Gas central heating and a wood-burner are installed and keeps the gîte warm during the chill autumn and winter months.
The gîte has access to a private terrace of some sixty square metres for eating breakfast outside, sunbathing or for a barbecue and sitting out with a glass of wine in the evenings. Table & chairs, sun loungers and a gas BBQ are included for your use. Although the private terrace is exclusively for your use, you are very welcome to enjoy any part of the 9 acres that Château de Lucy sits in.
There is a beach area on the edge of the property for swimming and paddling in the river.There are plenty of things to do within this area of Picardie. St Quentin has a large market on a Wednesday and Saturday and the city, best known for the Basilique (Cathedral) is full of artisan and designer shops and beautiful Gothic architecture.The medieval walled town of Laon (approx 40kms away) was the capital of France prior to Paris and oozes history and charm.
The theme parks of Parc Asterix and Disneyland are all reachable by car or train within an hour or so and there are historic battlefield sites and war memorials throughout the area. St Quentin has many tunnels beneath the City for which there are guided tours.
